"The media - both traditional and non-traditional - play an essential role in shaping our social representations. The diversity of voices, perspectives and points of view in the media sphere is still a challenge today. The members of the juries have done a colossal job in establishing the finalists and recipients, and I'd like to congratulate them on their contribution," said Carla Beauvais, Co-founder and Executive Director of the Fondation Dynastie.
An exceptional evening honoring women!
Women were in the spotlight at the Soirée Médias, where the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean was awarded the Grand Prix Dynastie presented by TD for her leadership, remarkable civic commitment and significant contribution to the media. Emeritus lawyer Tamara Thermitus Ad.E. received the Dynastie Impact Award presented by Natyf TV for her body of work, her social stance and her actions in favour of reconciliation between aboriginal peoples, as well as for her leadership in employment equity, diversity and the fight against systemic racism.
Artist Täbï Yösha and actress and author Catherine Souffront gave touching, delicate performances that had the audience on its feet. The evening's musical entertainment was provided by KidCrayola.
